Team building workshops can be a great way to bring colleagues together. Our adult workshops can be used as part of a corporate away day, ice breaking sessions or team building event to encourage team work skills or to reward a work force. They encourage staff to develop interchangeable professional skills such as teamwork, leadership, delegation, brain storming, communication, consultation, negotiating, listening, problem solving, time management, compromise, planning, collaboration, analytical skills, critical thinking, constructive criticism.
This is just what Change Grow Live – an outreach service working with homeless people in Leeds, asked us to do for their Christmas works do. Claire and Liz joined the amazing staff and volunteers of CGL for sand sculpture workshops in the stunning events space Waterfront Hall at Hebden Bridge Town Hall one December afternoon for an afternoon of sand sculpting fun.
We showed them sand sculpting techniques and encouraged them to work together to build a sand sculpture, They split into two teams and built a dragon and a castle
We also played fun games and gave the budding sand sculptors challenges such as build the tallest tower, build the strongest bridge. Finally we gave them secret suggestions for sand sculptures to utilise their new skills, which their colleagues had to guess at the end. They did a brilliant job and even though we tried hard to give them tough subjects to sculpt, including a Sunday dinner (!!!) they made excellent sand sculptures and their workmates were able to guess correctly.
They were all lovely people, a great team and they do fantastic work for a good cause.
We can do sand sculpting workshops in most venues outside or indoors, it’s a great way of bringing the beach, a touch of sunshine and seaside fun to your team wherever you are in the country. We brought the sand in and set up our sand sculpting tables very quickly and at the end of the workshops we took everything down, leaving the venue clean and tidy for the next event.
We can also do team building workshops in ice sculpting, pumpkin carving, light art, sand drawing on the beach and land art – it’s a great way to bring everybody together, celebrate what’s great about your team, introduce new colleagues, learn new skills and have fun.
