With the days getting longer, a faint hint of the warmth of spring in the air and the promise of lockdown easing – you may be starting to think of getting outdoors. Walking around with family and friends, visiting a park or the grounds of a beautiful building, admiring the flowers, indulging in a bit of retail therapy or enjoying a drink outside in the warm sunshine. Hopefully it won’t be a dream for much longer.

Sand In Your Eye can offer a lot of fun activities for safe outdoor public events throughout the year, which people can watch from a social distance or take part in with their bubbles. Even though the transmission of Coronavirus is greatly reduced outdoors and mean that outdoor events are comparatively safe, we have carefully looked at all our events procedures and adapted them where necessary to make sure they follow all the latest guidelines and ensure a Covid safe event, whilst still being a lot of fun.

Our sculpture trails are a really great way to explore towns, cities, parks, grounds and other outdoor spaces in a socially distanced manner within a safe family bubble or group in the fresh air, without encouraging crowds.

They can be themed and part of a competition and promote engagement with the site both in person and online through social media interactions. Pre carved sand sculptures, ice carvings and carved pumpkins can be installed with minimal fuss and mess.

We can make sculptures for all seasons – with sand sculptures in towns and on beaches in summer, ice sculpture trails in winter and pumpkin festivals at Halloween, including a very well received pumpkin trail in Bradford city centre in October 2020, which was put on following consultation with the local council and Public Safety Liaison Group and got a lot of positive PR for the city and organisers Bradford BID.

Live carves of sand sculptures and ice carvings or giant pumpkins can be strategically placed to avoid bottlenecks and can be stewarded to prevent crowds gathering. Everybody will be able to see what’s going on from a distance and will be amazed by the fantastic sculpture that emerge!

Visitors to your town or property will even be able to have a go themselves! We can bring the beach to you with our sand sculpture tables and in autumn they turn into pumpkin carving tables for family workshops.

In the fresh air, with ticketed workshops, one family or bubble per table, plenty of space in between our sculpting workshop tables, and sculpting tools sanitised in between sessions – our sand sculpture and pumpkin carving workshops are a safe and really fun activity that families, children and adults alike will love.

We can even run socially distanced sand drawing workshops on the beach for groups or teams – what better way of rewarding your team for all their hard work over a tough, challenging year with a day out where they can forget their worries and make some beach art, with their feet in the sand – just like the volunteers from the Bumblebee Conservation Trust did last year at Botany Bay in Kent!

We have put together this short film showing how we are ensuring the safety of everybody taking part in our activities – we are ready to get out there and make your outdoor event, trail or family workshops as enjoyable and as safe as possible!

We hope this gets you excited about getting out in the sunshine and seeing people start to visit – if you would like to have a chat about how you can put on a safe outdoor event and how our products and services can add to the enjoyment please call us on 01422 706 945 or email eyup@sandinyoureye.co.uk
