Jamie Wardley Pumpkin Carver

After making the pumpkin for ITV Day Break I then shot up the M1 towards Leeds where we were to make a pumpkin carving demonstration for Asda’s Head Office.  There waiting was Andy Moss with the most ginormous pumpkin called George the Giant that was already attracting lots of attention.  However he did not yet have a face and there was plenty to get through so I set to carving him with pumpkin flying about the place whilst chatting to the passing folk wanting to know about George and how he was taking shape.

The people of Asda were very enthusiastic as they had also made quite a few pumpkins as a competition and there was one that looked a little like Marilyn Manson and had flashing eyes.  We were not allowed to enter I’m afraid.

George the Giant Pumpkin gradually began to take shape and it became evident that the Aled jones lookalike pumpkin that I had brought with me was making fun of him so George was grumpy and not impressed with Aled’s japes.

He was in fact so unimpressed that after the event George the Giant Pumpkin then ran away.  I went to look for him all over Yorkshire and had heard that he was hiding out in Hebden Bridge but could not find him anywhere.

George. Aled says he is sorry, please come home!
